Kayak Challenge 2014

Friends of the Environment is planning Abaco’s fourth annual Kayak Challenge on November 8th, 2014, but this year is going to be a little different!

We will paddle in The Bight of Old Robinson again, and start and finish at Pete’s Pub in Little Harbour.   But because the upcoming Rose Ball, supporting Abaco Cancer Society, is raising much needed funds for Abaco’s cancer patients during this same time, the 2014 Kayak Challenge will not be soliciting funds and organizing the event at the same level as in the past.  It will be more of a group paddle, no shirts, no sponsors, no chase boats, just paddlers out enjoying the beauty that the East Abaco Creeks have to offer.

FRIENDS is asking that all paddlers contribute $25, which will count as a year’s membership at FRIENDS and will support the work to get The East Abaco Creek National Park proposal approved by Government. Payments can be made in advance at FRIENDS office or below.

Please also be sure to sign the petition in support of this proposed protected area and share it with your friends.

Pete’s Pub will be open for lunch and drinks after the paddle!
